Home made hair packs are perhaps best way to take care of your hair. Hair packs nourish your hairs and scalp, provides protection against pollution, dust, and heat and also adds luster. We contacted hair care experts at VLCC who provided some easy to make home remedies for hair.
Add 2 table spoons of castor oil and one whole egg (both yoke & egg white) to 1/2 cup of amla (Indian Gooseberry) powder. Stir in circular motions till it becomes a consistent smooth paste. Apply on hair and scalp with finger tips. Be gentle while applying. Leave for 30 minutes. Wash with lukewarm water. Do not over-rinse as it washes away natural oil from scalp.
Add two tablespoon castor oil and one whole egg to 1/2 cup of Fullers Earth (What is Fullers Earth?). Mix will till you get a consistent paste. Apply on hair and scalp. Rinse with a gentle shampoo after 30 minutes. Use lukewarm water. Apply a conditioner. Please note that one must always use conditioner with dry hair.
Oily hair requires a lot of attention and care. Oily hair must be shampooed often so it is important to dilute the shampoo with distilled water. Even mild shampoo should be diluted. For reducing oiliness take equal quantity of white vinegar and water and use the mixture for the last rinse after shampoo.
For the hair pack add white of an egg (or curd if you don’t like the smell of eggs in your hair) and one table spoon lime juice to one cup of heena powder. Mix well and apply to scalp and hair. Don’t worry the hena in this pack will not color your hair. Wash with lukewarm water.
